RuggedRoute is a mobile application developed and operated by Addictive Media Productions LLC ("Addictive Media Productions," "we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

• Account Information: Display name, email address, profile photo, and vehicle/rig details you provide during registration and profile setup.
• Location Data: GPS coordinates collected during active trail recording, ride tracking, and when you drop map pins. Location is only collected during active use of mapping features.
• Trail Data: Trail recordings, waypoints, difficulty ratings, reviews, and associated metadata you create.
• Photos and Media: Images you upload for posts, trail documentation, profile photos, and club content.
• Emergency Contacts: Contact information you provide for your emergency profile, used exclusively during SOS events.
• Community Content: Posts, comments, chat messages, club activity, and event participation.
• Presence Data: Online status and approximate location shared with friends and club members, when you opt in to location sharing.
• Club Memberships: The clubs you join or create, your roles, and related activity within those clubs.

2. How We Use Your Information

• App Functionality: To provide core features including trail recording, mapping, navigation, and offline maps.
• Community Features: To enable social features such as clubs, chat, friend connections, posts, and events.
• Safety: To power SOS alerts, emergency contact notifications, and community responder features.
• Notifications: To send push notifications via Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) about events, messages, and alerts you have opted in to.
• Billing: To process subscription payments through Stripe for RuggedRoute Pro.
• Improvements: To improve app performance, fix bugs, and develop new features.

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services that may process your data:

• Firebase (Google): Authentication, Firestore database, cloud storage, cloud functions, and FCM push notifications. See Firebase Privacy Policy.
• Mapbox: Map rendering, geocoding, and location services. See Mapbox Privacy Policy.
• Stripe: Payment processing for RuggedRoute Pro subscriptions. We do not store your payment card details. See Stripe Privacy Policy.
• Giphy: GIF search and display in chat. See Giphy Privacy Policy.

4. Location Data Handling

Your location data is handled with care:

• GPS tracking is only active during explicit use of trail recording or ride tracking features.
• Presence sharing (showing your location to friends/club members) is entirely opt-in and can be disabled at any time in Settings.
• You control your location visibility: visible to everyone, clubs and friends only, or completely hidden.
• Offline map tiles are stored locally on your device and are not transmitted to our servers.

5. Emergency Data

Emergency profile information (emergency contacts, medical notes, vehicle details) is stored separately and is only accessed and transmitted during an active SOS event. This data is shared with designated emergency contacts and nearby community responders only when you trigger an SOS alert.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

• Your data is retained for as long as your account is active.
• You can delete your account at any time from the app settings or via our account deletion page.
• Upon account deletion, all your personal data, posts, trails, and associated content are permanently removed within 30 days.
• Aggregated, anonymized data that cannot identify you may be retained for analytical purposes.

7. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (TLS), Firebase Security Rules for database access control, and secure authentication through Firebase Authentication and OAuth providers.

8. Children's Privacy

RuggedRoute is not intended for use by children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated policy within the app and updating the "Last updated" date above.
